Organized by the CCFMS and its affiliated clubs, these outings offer a fun, educational way for all ages to learn, explore new places, and experience the thrill of real discoveries.

Lapidary is the art of working stones, minerals, gems, and fossils to enhance their natural beauty through cutting, shaping, polishing, and setting. It encompasses both the creative craftsmanship of jewelry and art, and the people and workshops where this work is carried out.

  • Have a live auction or silent auction
  • Setup a table to do mineral identification at the beginning of a meeting. People bring their specimens
  • Have a Swap Night
  • Have a pot luck lunch or supper to meet other members
  • Issue a periodic newsletter with highlights of members and club activities
  • Before a formal presentation by a guest speaker, have member give a 5-minute talk
