The Sudbury Rock & Lapidary Society (SRLS) was formed in November 1984. It was incorporated in July, 1991, and currently has about 85 active members including amateurs, hobbyists and professionals. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in rocks, minerals, gems, fossils, lapidary or jewellery making. The Society is dedicated to promoting these collective hobbies for recreational, educational and general interest purposes. Officers of the Society are elected for a one year term with no remuneration for their volunteer work. We are a non-profit organization.
Regular Monthly Meetings are held each month from September through June at the Naughton Community Centre (Old Naughton Public School). A short business meeting and a break with refreshments are followed by a speaker or film, displays or demonstrations, discussions, and draws for door prizes. Guests are always welcome, so please join us at our next meeting!
